New year is expected to bring Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2006 in to force, which includes introduction of more provisions to curb computer crime
like video voyeurism, identity theft, e-commerce frauds, etc. Amendment Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on 15 December 2006 and is expected to be passed in early 2007. The bill proposes to amend some of the
existing sections and insert new ones in the IT Act, the Indian Penal Code, the Indian Evidence Act and the Code of Criminal Procedure to address various issues.
