You are here: / / Are paid to click websites illegal?
I am a student and while surfing on the internet, came across many paid-to-click websites that pay just for viewing ads. As I am from India, am I violating any cyber law or income tax rules? As I deposit money into online accounts such as paypal, alertpay or e-gold, is that taxable or is it taxable only when it materialises into local bank accounts? Please help me.
Never join such pay-click offers, as they will just make to work but will never pay up… And ofcourse above all clicking delibrately is illegal and in any case, such companies are very cautious before paying any amount to the account holders.
PayPal is not recognized by Reserver Bank of India, hence it is illegal to accept payments through PayPal. The logic seems to be... firstly, you cannot accept payment in dollars from Indian Residents and secondly, even in case of Foreign receipts in payPal in Dollars, which is transferred to own Bank Accounts in India by PayPal, the conversion takes place at their end and money is received here in Rupees and Dollars, which contravenes Foreign Exchange Laws of the land. As export receipts should be brought in India in Dollars only... penalty in such cases is upto 3 times the contravening amount !!!Above all, PayPal converts Dollars at a very low rate, while transferring to your bank account, like a day when Dollar is at 42.81, the PayPal will convert it at below 41 only... which is an unnecessary burden !
